Why suppliers set minimums
Every order carries fixed work — quoting, picking, documentation, packing and administration. Minimums keep that work proportionate to the order. For custom programs such as private label, minimums also reflect set-up work like label application.
Units: vials, boxes and SKUs
Minimums can be stated per vial, per box, per SKU or per order, so always check the unit. At Bulk Peptide Blends the wholesale unit is the box: 1 box = 10 vials. Quotes and requests are built in boxes, with the vial count shown alongside.
Standard wholesale vs. private label
Catalog products are requested by the box. Private label programs have a separate minimum — 500 vials per SKU — because each run is labeled for your brand. See the Private Label Peptides Guide.
Planning around minimums
- Forecast usage per product over the period you want to cover.
- Group products into one request so they can be quoted together.
- Account for your storage capacity and budget cycle.
- Confirm pricing, availability and timing in writing for the quantities you choose.
Questions to ask any supplier
- What is the minimum, and in what unit?
- Does the minimum apply per product, per order or per program?
- How are quantities above the minimum quoted?
